My name is Jim Brown, aka Okiejim. I was born and raised in Maryland and spent most of my professional career in Nebraska. I had the pleasure of interacting with many wonderful, creative people both here and abroad and even taught a bit at the college level along the way. Retiring to Oklahoma not far from where my father spent his early years led me to discover a lot of family history and awaken a new awareness of my Native American heritage. I returned to the joys of Native American flute music and Native American style branch flute making the old fashioned way, by hand. Each flute is tuned by following the flute itself, not in modern pentatonic scale. The creation of every one of a kind flute brings hours of joy and satisfaction to my life partner, Pam, and I as does the interaction with our pigeons.
